In the winter and summer camps of 2023 YI, BCMD brought together diverse groups, consulting 60 children aged 8-19, including those in urban and rural schools, monastic institutions, conflict with the law, and shelter homes. This child-centric approach aims to create an alternative report, fostering a network of empowered defenders of child rights. The reflective process engages the children to apply the newly acquired lenses to share their experiences, empowering and enlightening them in the process. While a lot of initiatives are underway, including legislative measures, it is evident that awareness creation of child rights and responsibilities needs to be integrated into the education system and the adults need periodic sensitisation to make communities safe for children.
