#YouthReps held an informational session for students at the RIM on 6th March, 2014. With the session, we hoped to engage other students in discussion about the general concept of YIDDD, what the youth hope to achieve, and the issues that the group has taken up.
Following the presentations, the RIM students raised a number of interesting questions related to YIDDD’s work including:
-The difficulty of total import substitution, looking into patenting local products (for Community Welfare)
-What other students can do to advocate for teachers (for Education)
-How a disability policy would support those with mental disabilities
-Whether the YIDDD should look into more drug and employment related issues
-Expanding YIDDD’s efforts to rural areas.
