Shaba Students Learn Community Mapping

Students interact with local residents during Local Action Plan

As follow up to Training of Trainers for teachers held at Paro in July, 27 students from Shaba Higher Secondary School participated in Community Mapping from August 5-10.

Training young minds in Community Mapping is first step towards inculcating idea of active citizen into young minds. During their five-day training, students planned and presented their step down Local Action Plan to conserve spring water source for clean and safe drinking water. Shaba Higher Secondary School Vice Principal, Kelzang Tenzin and his colleague, Sonam Lhamo with the school’s principal, Wangmo facilitated the training.
