BCMD Empowers Eastern Bhutan: Participatory Planning and Countering Disinformation Workshop.
During the period from June to August 2023, the Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy (BCMD) organised a sequence of capacity-building workshops in Samdrup Jongkhar, Eastern Bhutan.
The primary objective was to enhance the capabilities of local leaders in conducting participatory community analyses and fostering media literacy, equipping them to effectively counter disinformation.

Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy is thrilled to announce that we’ve been chosen as the GlobalGiving Project of the Month for February 2024 !
Our project (Empower Bhutan’s Citizens to Engage in Democracy) was selected from a pool of more than 5,000 non-profit projects in 170+ countries. Nearly 3,000 donors come together and make monthly donations to keep the Project of the Month going. With this extra support, we’ll be able to propel our project’s objectives forward in the coming years. Its primary impact will be the expansion of our outreach programmes, enabling us to connect with a broader audience. This extra financial support will be in executing our annual events, such as the Bhutan Democracy Forum 2024.
