BCMD Welcomes New Executive Director
Bhutan Centre for Media & Democracy Welcomes new Executive Director, Tandin Wangmo.
Tandin Wangmo has a history of working in the planning and programme development industry (national and local governance). Tandin brings with her, a wealth of experience working in the Government sector, and in areas of policy, programme and project formulation, coordination and management, international relations, resource mobilisation, results-based management and Theory of change. Her experience also includes working with multilateral agencies such as the United Nations Systems, Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) in the area of inclusive socio-economic development policies, sustainable development, strategic planning, green climate financing for adaptation and mitigation, gender main streaming and in partnerships-building. She is a highly driven professional with a Master’s Degree in Public Policy (development studies) from the National University of Singapore.
We are thrilled to have her leading the way at BCMD, bringing her expertise and passion to our mission of promoting media literacy and democratic values in our country.
Step-Down training on Sensitisation on Strengthening Good Governance and Inclusive Democracy
Following the sensitisation workshop on Strengthening Good Governance and Healthy Democracy, Further step-down workshops were carried forward by the student leaders, who had participated in these workshops held in Tashigang on 18th – 19th September and Samtse on 28th September . The step-down workshops were organised within their respective schools.

The Druk Journal Conversation on, ‘Elections and Politics in Bhutan’
The Suja & Dzaw Conversation featured in the 18th edition of The Druk Journal, themed, “Politics and Elections in Bhutan,” took place on October 27, 2023. This engaging dialogue with the panel members delved deep into crucial aspects of Bhutan’s political landscape. The topics discussed included the electoral process, facilitating postal ballots for Bhutanese diaspora members, the role of women in politics, and the perspectives of voters on political issues.
