Youth in Action: Students Take Their Policy Ideas to Parliament
5–10 July 2026
Fifty-one students from 12 educational institutions spent five days in the residential camp ‘Youth in Action: From Issues to Impact’. Working in teams, they identified real problems in their communities, analysed root causes, gathered evidence and reviewed policies, producing 10 youth-led policy briefs on issues such as bullying, digital privacy, water supply, rural livelihoods, healthcare and infrastructure.
On 10 July, at the Youth Parliamentary Engagement Forum, the teams presented their recommendations directly to the Chairperson of the National Council, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Members of Parliament.
Part of the project ‘Building Inclusive Democracy: Civil Society, Parliamentarians, Media and Youth Strengthen Good Governance in Bhutan’, implemented by DW Akademie and BCMD with funding from the European Union.
